America will cry as the body bags start arriving.

I was unhappy to say the least when on Friday of last week General Soleimani of Iran was assassinated by a drone on arrival at  Iraq. This was an act of War, a War Crime to be laid at the door of Donald Trump and probably no less by Mike Pompeo. Since it seems the General’s only crime appeared to be taunting Trump via tweet they’ve rapidly invented some pending action the General was going to take against America. Odd then that it appears he was in Iraq for peace talks.

Iraq not wishing to get in the middle of a retaliation asked America to remove it’s troops from their bases in Iraq. Trump refused which he has no right to do in  a Sovereign country. Of course an act of revenge came against an  American occupied base in Iraq putting Iraqi civilians at risk. There will be body bags travelling home  and tears when they arrive. I don’t know whether this is going to be  allowed or even encouraged into War or maybe some more rational being will apologise to Iran and try to enter into a treaty with them again. The Nuclear Agreement was working well until the U.S. withdrew it’s support.

The Republican Senators are the ones in the best position to bring this to an early end. They must forget their fear of Trump  and what his base may do and search their consciences as to whether they want to send the American Military back to war because their Commander in Chief committed an act of War without seeking the approval of Congress. Now is the time to complete the impeachment, dispose of Trump to criminal action preferably, sack Pompeo and check to see whether charges should be brought against him and send President  Pence to Iran with an apology and a peace plan.

The world does not need another war. May I remind those American Allies in Europe and the UK that Trump has not treated you as allies. Has not offered any sign of Respect since he came to power.Broke the  Nuclear Agreement that you’ll all tried to shore up. This is the time to back away and work out where your support should go. Iran who tried to keep to it’s agreement or the US that has now decided it can do pretty much as it likes including not informing allies of an action it was about to take that could precipitate war. Britain and the EU should stay out of this action. Don’t copy Trump Boris or you could be PM for the shortest time. We’re fighting a rearguard action against climate change, we have starving people al over the world, we have refugees from disasters that’s what we should be fighting, not another war. Please end Trump’s tenancy of the White House, don’t let him stand for a second term. You’ve got 10 months to convince the electorate that you still deserve to be in a job.

Hugs to all

As you can imagine, I am not surprised by Iran’s action, and the U.S. deserved it, but the Iraqis did not deserve it. Trump had no right to refuse to move our troops out of Iraq and as I see it, the blood of any who died or were injured is on his hands. He tweeted a bit ago saying that “All is well”, and “So far, so good”, which nearly made me throw my laptop across the room. And now, news of a Boeing passenger plane with 180 on board has gone down near Tehran … no idea whether it is connected or not, but … the timing is suspicious. I agree with you … the EU and UK must not support the U.S. in this! Trump is, as I have often said, a madman and our lives, your lives, matter not one whit to him. On behalf of the people of the U.S. … I’m sorry. 😥

You people of reason need not apologise. It;’s the people who keep Trump in power I look to for apologies and explanations.

Sigh … I know, but just as we think of the French, or Spanish, or Iranians as a group, so must the ‘Americans’ be thought of by those outside the U.S. As of last Friday, I think I no longer consider myself a citizen of the U.S., but rather just a citizen of the world, else maybe a “woman without a country”.

Upon first learning of the assassination of Iran’s General Soleimani, per Trump’s order, I thought there will be nothing good coming from this unwarranted hostility. I was and still am a believer, mayhaps one of the few, that Iran purposely did not cause more mayhem with their retaliatory bombings. That the U.S. had it coming, thanks to Trump, goes without saying…but every other person or creature did not. That Trump and his sycophants will lie and spin this entire fiasco to make Trump the hero is a given…hopefully, few will buy it! You state it well, there are many other things that we, the United States and the entire World, should be fighting and this is not one of them. Thank-you!

I’m certain Iran could have caused complete mayhem with their retaliation. That they didn’t was too precise to be an accident in my mind. Iran were far more restrained than Trump.Already Trump has found a way to make it Obama’s fault because of the Nuclear Agreement and invites NATO whom he has said he disliked to have a hand in the Middle East, those who held the Nuclear Agreement did have an interest in the Middle East until Trump messed it up. Pompeo will have to do without his biblical thrill ‘The Rapture’if Trump decides to hold back from war, and the thought of losing the next election may just make him do that. It won’t make him a hero to his base though. It’s time to try and rebuild the U,S, with all it”s sick and homeless and starving. Time to create some genuine jobs, time to make employers pay a proper minimum wage so the Government doesn’t need to subsidise them. Time to look long and hard at Global Warming and education and correct mistakes being made. Time for Moscow Mitch to release all the work lying untouched on his desk and either get back to work for the people or leave and give someone else the chance.
      Hugs Ellen.
