Listening to this for my Barsetshire Diaries blog reminded me of some of the things we imagined in our future in the sixties and early 70’s. As some of the lines in the song say…..
No hatred will be tolerated. Peace and love between the races, love is the only transportation. No political exploitation……
That’s over 40 years ago and I’m still waiting. I’m the eternal optimist that one day people will realise we’re losing our humanity with all the killing. We don’t deserve to be running the show if we don’t have the skill to live at peace. The funny thing is I am in touch with so many people through my blogs ( and through yours) and as yet I haven’t met anyone who disagreed that the wars have to stop and the living in peace, if not harmony has to start.
I’ve said before that this year I’d love to see a chain of Hugs around the world, that for once I’d love to see people concentrate on showing how much they care for each other without looking to see who it is they’re caring for. Unlikely to happen but you never know………..

So agree, David. Hugs back to you.

You are the natural peace ambassador, David. Bless you. If each of us does our little bit, maybe ONE day, the world will wake up and see the benefit of getting along. Hate, intolerance and impatience are not avenues to this accomplishment. Hugs all around carry more weight. ❤ 🙂

You see, you’re the person that gives me such hope Tess that maybe one day we’ll see this happen. I’d love to see it in my lifetime.and maybe each of us doing our little bit will bring it about.
Thank you

The trouble is, we broadly mix with people who share similar views. There are plenty of people who do think war is essential 😦

The only ones I can think of are the manufacturers of the weapons and killing machines. They just want us to kill for the money. Unless you’re a religious fanatic surely no-one thinks it’s a necessity?
I follow blogs of a number of people whose views I disagree with ( on some subjects) and who must disagree with me but it hasn’t been necessary so far to go and search them out to kill them.It seems most people must have a degree of tolerance.
