Mindless Terrorism.

I woke this morning to the news of a series of mindless acts of terrorism in France. I believe so far there are at least 100 dead and you can be sure these were innocent victims. The killings were no doubt motivated by religious zeal and will be forgiven by the god of these animals who will reward them in paradise. Yet the victims will probably be among those who have welcomed refugees of the same faith as the terrorists into their country and maybe their homes.

Maybe that’s their crime though, these innocent civilians. To have offered refuge to those fleeing the kind of regime these terrorists would create in the countries of the Near East. These are not people who believe in ruling a country via he ballot box but by imposing their will, albeit of a minority, on all others.                                                                                    I have to ask myself why the governments of the countries in that region are not doing more to crush this disease at home and I might answer , because they’re afraid of what stability might bring in the shape of a people’s revolt to gain democracy.                                    I also have to ask where these terrorists are getting their weapons. Is it from Russia who always enjoy instability if it stops the region allying itself too closely with the West, or is it manufacturers of arms in the West who put profit first.

My heart goes out to the families of the victims in France and in all honesty I expect to see more of the same in different Western countries before long. I hope people can remain strong and remember it’s a hateful minority as usual that wants to impose it’s will on a peaceful majority, and rule without compassion. If we look at Saudi Arabia and it’s record on human rights, especially towards women who can be jailed for driving a car and then think that this is the soft side of Islam then remember what the Taliban did in Afghanistan to women who had the temerity to want an education, we can see why the majority don’t want ISIS to succeed.

These people claim to be working for their god. If true then it’s time they found another way to worship. If they worked as hard at peace as they do at terrorism then the world would soon be a better place. I refuse to call it war as you can see your enemy in wartime, they wear a uniform and don’t hide. These terrorists shouldn’t be afraid to die in the open wearing a uniform as martyrdom is supposedly rewarded for them. We are a big World and can surely allow to live and let live with the various beliefs so we can be at peace with each other. As always I suggest we can learn to tolerate and respect our differences rather than have to fear them.

Please keep hugging and showing the world we’re ready to live in peace.  Please share a few thoughts for those killed and the families left behind in France.

Thanks for your thoughts on behalf of all of us ‘La Belle France’, David. We must try to be tolerant but I for one have about had it with war and religion.

You’re welcome. I hope a stiff payment is extracted from these murderers of the innocent. It’s surprising how often war and religion go hand in hand. Hence my reason for not being religious.
