Jane Dougherty:

Today it’s time to put things in perspective. Whatever personal happiness we may have, all over the world there are millions of victims of war, famine, disease, and the senseless terror of random bombers and trigger-happy criminals. Thank you Peter for reminding us that justice is hard to obtain in our world, and we should never stop demanding it.

Wat kan ik zeggen
als er geen woorden voor zijn?

Wat kan ik schrijven
als de inkt is opgedroogd?

Wat kan ik zingen
als ieder akkoord vals klinkt?

 Maar zwijgen is fout.

 What can I say
when there are no words?

What can I write
when the ink has run dry?

What can I sing
when there is no key?

But silence is wrong.

I’m sure Peter appreciates the hugs as much as me. Joey doesn’t yet. He’ll be star of the show come midnight tomorrow.
