The ceasefire in Gaza is due to end tonight but there are high hopes of a renewal as peace talks continue in Egypt.
Since July more than 2000 people have died. In Israel 67 people, all but three of them soldiers. In Gaza more than 1900 deaths and most of them civilian. We have to hope that the peace talks continue. Churchill said “Jaw Jaw not War War.” This current period has been 5 days of peace during which thousands of Israelis attended a peace rally in Tel Aviv on Saturday. I think there’s a real feeling that the peace process can work despite Hamas controlling the Gaza Strip.
I’m hoping to see some real concessions from the Israeli side with a definite easing of the current blockade to allow more humanitarian aid to reach the area. I’m hoping to see some acceptance from the Palestinian side that Israel needs to see some security issues settled so the talks can carry on.
Maybe at last we can see daylight at the end of the tunnel and if two sides like this can embrace and accept peace then maybe the world isn’t without hope after all. Keep Hugging people, you’re doing great.
Well said David. Huge hugs, 🙂
